Smart Digital Marketing & PR Agency and was set up in January 2019 by Ruth Mc Court, originally from Roscommon, now living in Galway – operating in the West of Ireland with the majority of clients in counties Galway, Roscommon and Limerick.
Ruth works as a self employed Marketing Consultant at Smart Digital, combining her love of creativity, marketing and social media, along with her extensive knowledge of the industry, making her extremely passionate about promoting the businesses she works with.
An expert in Digital Marketing, Content Creation, Marketing Strategy, Influencer Marketing, and Social Media Strategy and Management, Ruth has over 11 years experience in the digital marketing and retail industries, and has previously worked for digital and B2B marketing agencies, along with event management and publishing agencies.
Ruth helps clients, agencies, and SME’s build and improve their online presence through traditional and digital marketing activities, either working alongside an existing marketing team, or solely externally running a company’s marketing activities. Ruth’s main services are: Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing Audits, Social Media Management, Graphic Design, PR & Event Management, Influencer Marketing, and Digital Marketing Mentoring & Training.
Ruth has also made a significant impact in the marketing and social media avenues of the Irish horse racing industry – managing the marketing, social media, influencer marketing, and Ladies Day Events for both Roscommon Racecourse and Limerick Racecourse in 2024. On the judging side Ruth was a Judge for the ‘Best Dressed Gent’ competition sponsored by Halo Nightclub and JOE.ie for the Galway Races alongside Deric Hartigan Irish TV Weatherman at the 2017 Galway Races, and a Judge for the Family Fun Day Mad Hatters Competition sponsored by Ireland’s West Airport at the 2022 Galway Races.
Ruth is passionate about mental health in Ireland so post-covid Ruth wanted to use her expertise and marketing knowledge to try and improve the mental health services in the West of Ireland. From 2021-2023 Ruth managed the marketing for mental health charity Helplink Mental Health where she managed and executed the marketing, social media, graphic design, influencer marketing, and PR along with organising and executing the hugely successful national sea-swimming fundraiser #Coldtober and raised over €240,000 through for the charity’s mental health services during the 1.5 year period. Ruth was delighted to put Helplink on the map and also secured a slot on IrelandAM to promote the sea swimming challenge where she visited Portmarnock beach in Dublin for a sea swim with Presenter James Patrice and gave an interview on the importance of mental health services in Ireland.
Ruth also has a popular fashion blog Instagram page ‘Fashion Truth by Ruth’ with over 24,000 followers where she creates fashion content as an influencer. Through her Fashion Truth by Ruth social media platforms Ruth has worked with many brands and boutiques to promote their clothing and services including; Chanelle Pharma, Supermacs, Athlone Town Centre, Anthony Ryans, Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal, along with Club L London, who dressed Ruth at the 2023 Platinum VIP Style Awards which Ruth attended as a Galway Brand Ambassador of Platinum Expert Hair.
A recent exciting highlight for Ruth’s Fashion Truth by Ruth Instagram page happened in October 2024 when Ruth was asked on a PR Trip to Marbella to stay in a luxury villa: Villa Luxe Marbella, to promote the local area of Puerto Banus, Marbella, and the offering at Villa Luxe to her 24,000 Instagram followers and 10,000 Facebook followers. Post PR Trip Ruth was also asked to take Villa Luxe Marbella on as a client and manage the social media for the page, meaning Ruth had hit her first European client in Marbella, Malaga, Spain!
