The Galway Races Summer Festival is one of Ireland’s most anticipated sporting and social events, attracting thousands of visitors each year for world-class horse racing, fashion and entertainment. This year, I was delighted to be invited by renowned stylist, fashion expert and Galway Races MC and host, Marietta Doran, to provide live content creation and social media coverage across her digital platforms during the prestigious Ella & Jo Ladies Day.
Working in a fast-paced live event environment, my role was to capture the excitement as it happened, creating engaging content in real time to keep Marietta’s audience informed and entertained throughout the day. From the stylish arrivals and behind-the-scenes moments to interviews, finalist announcements and winner celebrations, every key moment was documented and shared across social media.

Covering Ella & Jo Ladies Day at Galway Races
Ella & Jo Ladies Day is one of the highlights of the Galway Races Summer Festival, celebrating style, elegance and individuality. Sponsored by Ella & Jo, the competition attracts racegoers from across Ireland, all hoping to impress the judges with their race day fashion.
Throughout the day, I worked alongside Marietta Doran, capturing every stage of the competition, including style spotting around Ballybrit Racecourse, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with racegoers, finalist updates and the exciting winner announcements.
Creating content live meant followers could enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of the event as it unfolded, even if they couldn’t attend in person.

Congratulations to everyone who entered this year’s Ella & Jo Ladies Day competition. The standard of fashion was exceptional, making it another memorable celebration of Irish style.
A special congratulations to Lisa Walsh, who was crowned Best Dressed, and Maksuda, who received the award for Best Hat. Their creativity, attention to detail and confidence made them worthy winners on the day.
My Race Day Look
As someone working at one of Ireland’s biggest fashion events, I wanted my outfit to reflect the occasion while remaining practical for a full day of live content creation.
My outfit and headpiece were rented from Complete Look, demonstrating the growing popularity of occasion wear rental for major events. I completed the look with a Carvela handbag, Zara shoes and my hair was styled by Platinum Expert Hair.
