About Ruth
An expert in Digital Marketing, Content Creation, and Social Media – Ruth is passionate about all things digital marketing, and utterly focused on delivering the best results to her clients.
Smart Digital Marketing & PR Agency is based in the West of Ireland, with the majority of clients in counties Galway, Roscommon and Limerick. Founded in January 2019 by Ruth Mc Court who works as a self employed Marketing Consultant at Smart Digital, combining her love of creativity, marketing and social media, along with her extensive knowledge of the industry, making her extremely passionate about promoting the businesses she works with.
Ruth has over 11 years experience in the digital marketing industry, and has previously worked for digital and B2B marketing agencies, and event management and publishing agencies.
Ruth solely runs the digital marketing consultancy agency ‘Smart Digital Marketing Agency’ which set up almost 6 years ago (January 2025), and helps clients, agencies, and SME’s build or improve their online presence through traditional and digital marketing.
During the 6 years in business Ruth has also been a digital marketing contractor for agencies Food PR & Communications and Nuadesign E-Commerce Agency.
Ruth is very passionate about mental health so post-covid Ruth wanted to use her expertise and marketing knowledge to try and improve the mental health services in Ireland and the West of Ireland.
During this 6 year period of Smart Digital Ruth took on the part-time role of Marketing Manager for Helplink Mental Health where she managed and executed the marketing, social media, graphic design, influencer marketing, PR and fundraising campaigns for a mental health charity in the West of Ireland from 2021-2023; organising and executing the hugely successful national sea-swimming fundraiser #Coldtober and raised over €240,000 through for the charity’s mental health services during a 1.5 year period.
Ruth also secured a slot on IrelandAM to promote the sea swimming challenge which you can watch here.
Ruth is also a Digital Creator/Influencer on Instagram for her fashion blog ‘Fashion Truth by Ruth’ with over 24,000 followers on Instagram and over 10,000 on Facebook.
Through her Fashion Truth by Ruth social media pages Ruth has worked with many brands and boutiques to promote their clothing and services including; Chanelle Pharma, Supermacs, Athlone Town Centre, Anthony Ryans, Pretty Little Thing, Nasty Gal, along with Club L London, who dressed Ruth at the 2023 Platinum VIP Style Awards which Ruth attended as a Brand Ambassador of Platinum Expert Hair.
A recent exciting highlight for Ruth’s Fashion Truth by Ruth Instagram page happened in October 2024 when Ruth was asked on a PR Trip to Marbella to stay in a luxury villa: Villa Luxe Marbella, to promote the local area of Puerto Banus, Marbella, and the offering at Villa Luxe to her 24,000 followers. Post PR Trip Ruth was also asked to take Villa Luxe Marbella on as a client and manage the social media for the page, maening Ruth had hit her first European client in Marbella, Malaga, Spain!
Ruth was also also made a significant impact in the marketing of the Irish horse racing industry:
- Chosen as a Brand Ambassador at the 2023 Galway Races Festival
- Chosen by sponsor ‘Ireland’s West Airport’ to Judge the 2022 Galway Races ‘Mad Hatters Competition’ held on Family Fun Day.
- Chosen to Judge ‘Best Dressed Gent’ by Halo Nightclub and JOE.ie for the Galway Races alongside Deric Hartigan Irish TV Weatherman in 2017
- Awarded the tender in 2024 for Roscommon Racecourse, carrying out a social media audit, and implementing a social media and marketing strategy which included influencer marketing, along with managing their social media platforms, graphic design, and live coverage of racing, and organising and running the highly successful Supervalu Ladies Day at Roscommon Racecourse in July 2024
- Awarded the tender in 2024 for Limerick Racecourse, auditing their social media pages, and managing their social media platforms, influencer marketing, and organising the successful BoyleSports Ladies Day during the Munster National Racing Festival, which saw an increase of 60% in ticket sales than the year previous
Ruth also manages influencer marketing for clients and agencies, and has helped businesses such as Material World and Hanley & Co introduce and develop extremely successful influencer marketing strategies during her time contracted by Nuadesign.
